Our Review:

Get 30,000 United MileagePlus Miles when you spend your first $1,000 on this card in the first three months.

Chase has loaded this card up with additional benefits including: two one-time use passes to the United Club, priority boarding, free checked baggage, and more. If you fly United a lot and don’t already have elite status, this card is worthwhile to keep for its airside benefits.

Note: there is also a business card offer for qualified applicants. To see it, click the “Apply Here” link below, then click “Are you a business owner?” in the top-right of the page.

The Facts:

  • Start with 30,000 bonus miles after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening
  • Check your first bag for free – save up to $100 per roundtrip
  • Enjoy priority boarding privileges and visit the United Club with two one-time-use passes every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Earn double miles on tickets purchased from United, and 1 mile per $1 on all other purchases
  • Your miles don’t expire as long as your credit card account is open, with no limit to the number of miles you can earn
  • Use your miles for any seat, any time, on any United flight
  • $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $95

Verdict:

Other cards are better for everyday spending (see the Chase Sapphire Preferred to start with), but this is a solid candidate for an additional card in your wallet—especially if you’re interested in flying United or any other Star Alliance carrier.
